I took this picture in Bedford mills near my home in Kingston Ontario Canada. One of the many Lakes we have around here.I love my Kayak fishing and I love photography just as much as they both go hand in hand when I'm out and about in my Kayak.Time
This was very early in the morning as I love to get up early in the am to capture the golden hour and what it has to offer. This shot was of my niece as she looked towards a island and the sun was just starting to peak over the top of the trees.Lighting
This was a matter of timeing. As,l knew that it was going to be a great sunrise and getting my niece in the shot was a extra bonus. So I knew that I wanted the sun just as it started to peak and not a full sun rise .And I got what I wanted it was all in the waiting game.Equipment
I used a bridge camera a Cannon power shot S3 IS which l no longer use as I got it wet and had to buy a new one which is a SX 50 HS,I have a Cannon 7D but l don't take that into my Kayak for fear of getting it wet.Inspiration
Just the time of Day as l was lucky that day as every thing came together it was such a beautiful morning as most sunny summer morning are but this one was really quite speatcular just that much better than other mornings,a lot of things came into play the my neice the fog ,no wind really and of course the beautiful sunrise.Editing
Nope not at all.In my camera bag
When I'm out Kayak fishing just my bridge camera the SX50 HS and when I'm out on the road my SLR Cannon 7D with my wide angle lens ,Cannon EFS 10-22MM.This is what l use most of the time thus far.Feedback
The best advice l can give you is early am,the earlier the better.Try to pick windless days as its much easier on you when you are out on the water,my choice for water craft is my 14 ft Kayak but I'm sure any water craft you have will work,my bridge camera works great but maybe some day l will use my SLR time will tell.
