This shoot was taken in Austin Texas at a Meetup event. I'm still an amateur photographer and this was a learning experience for me. The model is Kristy Jessica who has the Instagram handle of "Pure Rebel" a wonderful model who was willing to work with me.Time
This was taken in a studio but the time of day was at night on a Friday night.Lighting
The shoot was set up with a single light positioned right above her. She was put up on a box with a black velvet blanket draped over the box.Equipment
I used a canon 60D Camera. I hand held the camera while I was up on a stool so that I was above her. My settings were f/11. ISO 100, shutter speed 1/125. My lens was a canon EF 24-105mmInspiration
We were working with lighting and negative space.Editing

The best advice that I can give is to always try something new. Doing meetup events with other photographers has proven to be very valuable for me.
