Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a road trip through Eastern Oregon in the middle of nowhere

Time

Photographed in the early afternoon.

Lighting

We got lucky with a nice even layer of overcast clouds.

Equipment

Shot on a Canon 5d Mark II with the Canon 24-105L f4 lens. No tripod.

Inspiration

I loved the setting of an abandoned barn that could hold such a unique history. But through time has just been forgotten about and left to rest alone in the middle of nowhere. Had to hop over a couple No Trespassing signs to get this angle. Worth it.

Editing

Lightly retouched in Lightroom, not to much post work.

In my camera bag

Camera body, a couple zoom lenses with different focal lengths. Lots of extra batteries and memory cards.

Feedback

Get low angles to make your subject seem powerful in the frame. And if it's all alone, don't be afraid to center it, not everything looks good when stuck to the rule of thirds.
