You should see this tree in person, it's like no other tree you have ever seen before. I have one in my backyard, the circumference of the trunk is about the same but it's branches do not touch the ground as it had been kept trimmed up over the years.

Behind The Lens

Location

Treaty Oak, Downtown Jacksonville Florida.

Time

This photo was taken late afernoon

Lighting

sunny day

Equipment

Nikon D3100, and I think I used the Kt lens with this. I also used a tripod.

Inspiration

This is a magnificent specimen of a live oak tree. It is amazing that this tree has a trunk over 25 feet in circumference, it rises to height of 70 feet, and its crown spreads over 145 feet, with twisting branches that bow to the ground and curl back up. The oak shades a roughly circular area, about 190 feet in diameter and is over 250 years old. Also that it sits right smack in the Middle of down town Jacksonville, Fl.

Editing

It's been so long since this photo was taken that I don't exactly remember what post editing I did to it. I do remember fixing the color of the deck walkway to brighten up the wood, I also used a slight HDR effect to it.

In my camera bag

I normally keep my Nikon D3100 camera in my bag along with my Nikon 50mm prime lens, Sigma 70-300mm lens, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens,

Feedback

I used a tripod to get a nice sharp photo, taken on a bright afternoon.
