Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a market in Machakos Kenya in 2007.

Time

It was taken early in the morning as the villagers were undressing there goods for sale that day .

Lighting

The light caught each color of grain beautifully as it peeked over the Machos hills into the city center.

Equipment

Believe it or not it was my first digital camera I bought from Fingerhut a Colby 6 megapixel if that even in 2006, ha ha ha.

Inspiration

Just the way the light hit the many colors of grains and the morning was a buzz.

Editing

The only post processing since the original photo is so small in digital content there is not much to work with is was lightened up with some contrast to show the colors more. Pretty much what you see is what I actually saw!

In my camera bag

Today I carry a lightweight and comfortable Canon SLR1.. great for traveling! I also use a Canon 50D. Prime 50mm, and a 18-55, and a wide angel 14mm. A few ND filters and even colored filters when I want to get abstract and not do too much post processing and get m images right off the camera!

Feedback

Capturing the morning light will give you great shadows and highlights and lows in your colors. Do not shoot into the sun however. Also for travel photography or street photography the morning is great time t catch people in a natural state of motion and you should be ale as well to capture genuine emotion and reactions between people. Good morning!
