Location
The image is taken in a small place called Bakarac which is located in the north Adriatic Sea, in Croatia.Time
It was taken before the noon.Lighting
Only natural light from the sun is "used".Equipment
For the photo I used Canon t2i Rebel 550D + Canon EFS55-250mm lense with tripod (Vanguard). Flash is not used, and no other accessories.Inspiration
His arrogance. I was tired from cycling (I travel every year with my bicycle and backpack through the coast and islands just for fun) and I decided to stop and take a rest. We were first watching each other for a 15-20 minutes and I got jealous on him after realizing how simple life really is and how little you need to be able to enjoy the life at it's best. He is fast, smart and free, and he is proud of it.Editing
Since my camera does not support double exposure option (I took two photos, one as long exposure, and one regular), I needed to do it by hand. First I reseted all the data from camera through Camera Row, then I cleaned the photo and after that I added a contrast. I wanted to combine long exposure photo with a regular one. One should give a silky feel to the sea, and the other should give sharpness to the object. I wanted to achieve a complete focus on the bird and his attitude in that moment. To make it simple, I just wanted to show the character of that bird in that moment. I believe I succeeded. In my camera bag
Last 2 years I mostly use my mobile phone (Oukitel K10000). Reasons are few, since K10000 is made for travelers who seeks adventure and don't want to be obsessed about battery life of their mobile phone it serves me well on my trips. If battery save mode is ON it can last to 25 days without charging, during that time the mobile phone can charge other mobile devices also if needed, and the mobile needs 4 hours to recharge to 100% - that's why it makes him a great tool for fast shooting. The other thing is my old, scrached, and dusty Canon t2i, which survived a lot during those trips, but since I use double battery grip for him, he has more then 3kg, which is the reason why I am using him in a very rare occations and only when I find compositions so unique and interesting that it must be taken with an dslr. I also carry two old lenses, one is a tele and the other one is a wide lense. In adition I carry also tube rings to convert my tele lense into macro lense if I stumble on some interesting insect or a spider.Feedback
Just travel, don't plan in advance, and don't be obsessed with it. Focus on the character of the living being you wish to capture, and plan your image according to that. :)
