Behind The Lens
Location
At an exotic frog exhibit at the Museum of Natural History here in New York.Time
It was late afternoon the crowds were going home to dinner.Lighting
This was not well lit I had to kneel down and place my camera lens up against the glass to keep from reflections or glare. I shot at the slowest shutter speed I could hand held. Using the glass pressure to steady my shot.Equipment
I was using an Olympus camera 6 megapixel at that time. I don't recall the lens but it had a macro capability. This frog reminded me of a toad I once shot nesting in a grass best with his arms folded like in a Buddha meditative pose. Loved the color of this species.Inspiration
I am always fascinated with small animals.Editing
No this was the original shot just as it was.In my camera bag
I now carry a Nikon D800 with three lenses 85-400mm for birds and wildlife, my 24-85mm and my 105 mm macro Nikon lens. I carry a flash but rarely use it these days.Feedback
Visit places where they will showcase these animals first then if you have the opportunity go to their natural habitat on vacations. This will prepare you for the habits of these animals and helps to minimize your searching in vane for them in the wild.
