I took this photo at home on my dressing table after purchasing a brand new lipstick. One of my favourite things about this photo is the quality and finish on a new product, especially makeup!Time
This is one of my favourite shots! I took this image at around 12 'o' clock lunchtime. As it was summer here in the UK, the sun was already quite high. After opening the lipstick up and placing it on my dressing table, I began to take various shots. My favourite shooting mode on my Canon camera is macro mode because we get to see close up details of objects we wouldn't normally get to see!Lighting
The lighting was perfect with right amount of background blur and crispness to the lipstick texture. This was taken during the day therefore natural daylight was optimum. I love how the light captures the surface texture and intensifies the color, making it appear more bold and dramatic.Equipment
This photo was captured using my Canon 700D camera. There was no need to use flash because I had natural daylight. As this was a macro shot I felt it was more creative to capture the image with out a tripod so I could easily adjust the focus to the light and take it at an angle - and the result was phenomenal!Inspiration
It was the spur of the moment decision - I love the newness of fresh makeup, its something that cannot be returned back to its original state once its been used and I wanted to capture the moment of what it looked like originally so I could always look back at the textures and colors.Editing
Since this photo had perfect lighting there was not much to edit - I just increased the brightness and adjusted the contrast. In my camera bag
In my bag I usually carry my Canon camera, two additional lenses, wide angle and macro as well as spare batteries and memory cards because you never know when you'll need to change it! I also carry external flash and a tripod for landscape shots.Feedback
Make sure you have ample lighting - natural daylight can work wonders for your photos! Be different, unique and creative with your shots. Go with your gut and experiment, some shots are created simply by accident! Try out different modes on your camera but stick to one which you favor more as this is your strength. More importantly, just have fun and be creative!
