Location
I took the photo whilst walking along the East bank of the Waikato River; running through Hamilton, New Zealand. I was facing south.Time
It was about8-9am just after the 'Dawn Service' on ANZAC Day - (25th April 2010)Lighting
The sun had risen, but there was such a thick fog that the light in reality was veratably as seen in the photograph.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 400D Digital; Lens: 75-300 mm Zoom (Focal Length: 75mm); Handheld (shutter: 1/30th second); 1600 ISO.Inspiration
Seeing the grey bridge emerging from the grey fog.Editing
No post-processing.In my camera bag
Canon 400D camera body; EFS 18-55 mm lens; 75-300mm tele zoom lens; cable shutter-release; lens tissue pack; 4 x 4GB Memory cards (+ 1x 4GB card in camera); battery charger.Feedback
Camera shudder can be a bit of a problem at 1/30th sec exposure time. My mother was a keen amateur photographer & she taught me to stand with my left-leg slightly forward; right leg to the right side a little & knees relaxed & bent; take a moderately-deep breath;breathe out slowly & press the shutter when my breath was about 1/2-way out.
