Behind The Lens

Location

Beach north of Half Moon Bay, California.

Time

Noon

Lighting

Very strong sun light, and I wanted to use a relative long exposure to capture an impression of the waves, beach, & bluff that looked more like a painting.

Equipment

So small aperture (f22), low iso (100) and shutter speed 1/8. Using my Tamron 24-70mm lens + moving my camera during exposure.

Inspiration

The scene was very nice, but not very original to take a picture from a beach on a sunny day. I wanted to capture an impression of the waves, beach, & bluff that looked more like a painting.

Editing

Lighting adjusted in lightroom.

In my camera bag

Canon 6D; Tamron 24-70mm; Tamron 70-300mm; Samyang 14mm; Canon 50mm

Feedback

Use your imagination to create an interesting picture from an ordinary place with suboptimal light. Technique is important to get it done, but being creative is most important
