Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from the Rocky Mountain area located right off of the trans-Canada highway after turning not the Banff National Park

Time

I took a 30 minute hike up this mountain at about 3:00PM.

Lighting

It was the first time I had taken this hike and it will not be the last. This area is filled with sites to see for many photographers or travelers in general. I recommend Banff Alberta for landscape and wildlife photographers.

Equipment

This photo was simply taken with a Sony Xperia cellphone camera.

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this photo is the colors of nature included in the photographer himself that is shown in the photo. This photo shows the heights that photographers go to, just to get the right image at the right time. I am the photographer in the photo and my brother is taking the shot while I didn't know.

Editing

This photo was edited in photoshop with HD toning, shadows and highlights, a touch of low levels on the mountains to show the clouds and lowered brightness and exposure touched off with a bit of gama at +2

In my camera bag

I am usually using a D3200 with a 55-200 mm lens or a 18-55mm lens. Recently I started using a Hoya UV adapter lens.

Feedback

For someone trying to capture something similar, I would focus on one main object being taken in the photo at a close distance but not covering the whole view. The more that is shown in a photo, the more it is appreciated by the eye of the viewer. Thank you! And happy shooting!
