I agree with you but at least your reaping a good benefit of them being friendly. I wish that the few showing up in my field were friendly like this for just a day.

lol, I know what you mean. When I first moved out here , there were very few homes and people. Used to see really giant bucks. Had gotten a photo (terrible) in the early morning of a 15pt magnificent buck. His body was masive. Though it's still very rural, there are more people hunting and the huge bucks are long gone. Very sad.

I took this photo in my yard. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and have amazing wildlife right outside the window all the time.Time
This was early in the morning. I had glanced out the window and saw this handsome fellow as he was facing off with another buck which is out of the photo. It was a grey morning and I wasn't sure I'd get any good shots out of this!Lighting
It was a bit challenging! Early morning on a grey day trying to get an action shot when you quickly grab your camera. Not a great combination!Equipment
I had used my old Nikon D80. Which was my first digital camera!! I had just switched over from film to digital and haven't looked back.Inspiration
I love wildlife! When I first moved to this area I had decided to shoot any variety of wildlife that wandered on my property. That was the start of my deeper love and respect of the life that goes on in our forests. This was one of two bucks sparing with each other. There were a number of trees that blocked most of my view of the fight, but managed to get some images that was happy with.Editing
The only post-processing I did with this image was to crop and resize. In my camera bag
I have long since upgraded my camera to a Nikon D7100. My favorite lens is my Tamron 600mm, which I keep close to my favorite window to view the animal trail that runs through the yard. I keep a number of different nd filters, cleaning cloths and wide angle lenses in my bag.Feedback
Patience!! Also go with your gut feelings. I've gotten a variety of fantastic wildlife images on the same day by staying in spots that just felt "right". Enjoy what you are shooting. Most of my photography is done because I love the subjects. I do it for no one else, but me. I've learned so much about behaviors that can turn an ordinary shot into an amazing capture. I've seen things that I watch in awe and don't even try to shoot because I don't want to miss a minute of what is happening. You have to have a passion, if not, it's just a job.
