The photo was taken in Köln (Cologne) Germany in Alt stadt or Old cityTime

When i took this photo was a rainy night, very cold and a lot of rain. The light was more or less poor and i took several shots in order to come with the right settings. I didn't used a flash, it was a long exposure of 30s with an aperture of f9 and ISO 100Equipment
Nikon D300, 35mm 1.8, tripod, without flashInspiration
I took the photo in the rain because there were not so many people crossing the bridge and i thought it was a right moment due to the hour and the weather conditions. It was really cold but but my wife insisted to take some shots and she was next to me in the rain...that was very important for me to have her support thereEditing
I used Lightroom for the post-procesing.I used only some basic adjustments like highlights, shadows, extra sharpness, a bit of color vibrance. Not to much post processing because was not necessary and i like to keep my photos as natural as posibleIn my camera bag
Normally in my bag i have always a 35mm 1.8, 28mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, a flash sb910, a remote trigger, a tripod, a lens cleaning kit, 2 cameras a nikon d300 and now also a nikon d810Feedback
To capture this type of photos you will always need a tripod, the stronger the better, try to use wide lenses like 14-24mm, take more shots in order to adjust your aperture, exposure time, ISO.Always try to push your limits and try to experiment new things, angles and ways to make you a better photographer and to improve your technique.
