I love the texture in her hair and the freckles. Beautiful girl. Beautiful shot.

Location
I took this image in London's Victoria park. Its my 'Go to' location when I am doing spontaneous shoots as its very local and has lots and lots of gorgeous spots!Time
This was taken at 4.40 PM, It was a case of seeing some gorgeous light and then grabbing my friends daughter Grace and saying "quick lets go!"Lighting
No nothing worth sharing lol it was all good ole late afternoon diffused sun :)Equipment
This was the first time using my Nikon D610, i had just upgraded to full frame from my D7000. The lens i used was the 105mm its one of my favs for children as it means I can keep a bit of distance. It also has a yummy creamy Bokeh! I did also use a gold reflector on this shoot, I have come to love it in the right light it bounces some beautiful warmth back onto the subject.Inspiration
Grace and her family all have this gorgeous red colouring and those doey brown eyes. I see Grace walking to school every day as she is in school with my son, I had been desperate to capture that colour and beautiful face full of freckles! My plans to photograph her kept being dashed by the English weather so on this day spontaneity won the day!Editing
I wanted to bring out the tones in this image and do Grace justice. My go to was Vsco Kodak gold and it worked beautifully as a base but was intense and not true to the original, so I played with the colour mostly until I was satisfied that the image was a good representation of the subject and more of a subtle enhancement. I love to use actions but usually fall back on good old hand editing! In my camera bag
Oh gosh! A better question would be what would you like to have in your bag?! I presently have the D610 and then the D7000 as my back up. other than kit lenses I carry a 35mm my trusty 50mm and the 105mm I love primes but really would love to add the 24-70 and the 70-200 to my bag!! I use the SB900 flash and always carry a reflector. veFeedback
In this instance spontaneity was my friend. I think in photography its great to pre plan but also as great to cease the moment! If conditions are right just grab and go! In terms of capturing the subject I always turn them around slowly and see how the light falls on their faces, is there some nice light in their eyes? can I add some some light back using the reflector? some children find it hard to have a relaxed expression so I chat away and put them at ease, my trick is to say " just relax why I do some test shots" thats usually the ones I keep!
