Excellent image, thought I think a touch of color can make it even better.

Location
I took this photo outside in my garden.Time
It was taken at 10.45 in the morning to catch the light as the sun came over the trees at the back of meLighting
The light on the day was fairly diffused by the clouds as i wanted to pick up every detail in post without blocking the blacks or blowing the highlights. I knew that i would be doing a lot of dodging and burning later in post so wanted as much useful information in the shot prior.Equipment
The camera used was a Nikon D800 fitted with a Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 using only daylight as a light source. The only other thing used was some black material to cover my dads shirt and arms to give me a black backgroundInspiration
Both my parents are very keen gardeners and I wanted to take an image for them to represent this. I later had it made into a print on aluminium 3 feet by 2 feet (approx) to hang on the wall. Of all the images that I have ever took and will ever take this is now my most precious image of all time, as at the end of March this year my dad sadly passed away, I only wish that he could see that it has won many competitions as he would have been so proud.Editing
A lot of post processing was done to this image. Firstly i turned it into mono and made sure the full extent of the background was black. Then came hours and hours dodging and burning every crease of his skin to make a really gritty imageIn my camera bag
Well thats a tricky one, I would like to class myself as an all rounder when it comes to photography. So my camera is always my Nikon D800, and just recently my D500 too. If i am out taking wildlife then it would be my Nikon 200-400 f4. In the studio shooting models then it would be Nikon 24-70 f2.8 and Nikon 70-200 f2.8. Out doing landscapes then it would be the 24-70 and Nikon 14-24 f2.8. If I am doing any macro work then it would be the Nikon 105 f2.8 with a couple of Nikon SB900 and SB910Feedback
Not advice as such but as with all images pay attention to the minutest detail. What I would say is to try and make an image for each of your loved ones to the best standard that you can as one day they will be your most cherished
