Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on an off-road trail in Moab, Utah.

Time

The time of day was around noon.

Lighting

This was in February and the day was very clear. The lighting was perfect at the time I took this. It can change in an instant out there.

Equipment

I was using a Canon 7d. The lens was my 70-300.

Inspiration

I am drawn to dead or sleeping trees. They are eerie and beautiful.

Editing

Not at all. Sometime I will crop my pictures but I don't usually do any other editing.

In my camera bag

I typically carry my canon camera, an EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6, EF 28-135 mm f/3.5-5.6, EF 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, and my macro EF 100mm f/2.86.

Feedback

The only thing I can say is that when you see something that draws you to it and you think "I've got to take a picture or that!" Or where you think "that would be a beautiful picture!" Take the time to stop your car or get off your bike or whatever and take the picture. Those moments can pass you by so quickly. Be prepared and keep your camera near by.
