The lighting and shallow depth of field make this shot stupendous! Great job and congrats!

Location
I took this pic some years ago near to the small town St. Corona am Wechsel in Austria. I go there every year with two friends of mine to camp in the woods. We have found a very special place there and we just love it! It is calm and the woods are sooo wonderful. The wood is situated in the mountains (not really high level). You have to walk for about 1 1/2 hours from the town if you go fast and there it is... a place like heaven. The grass is green and soft - not very common for a wood in general and especially not for a wood in the mountains - it is kinda elfish. We have a small fireplace there and normally stay for about one or two nights. We take a lot of food with us and when I say "a lot" I mean "too much" (heavy rucksacks) but fortunately we don't have to take water with us because there is a small spring near to this place. It is hard to explain how wonderful it is but this photo is a try to show a part of its beauty.Time
Must have been in the later afternoon.Lighting
No artificial light used here - I think, if I remember right, that I used a gradiant to get this smooth effect the picture has.Equipment
If I remember right I used my old Canon EOS 550D with a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II for this one. No tripod. No flash.Inspiration
Nature.Editing
Of course! To be honest: In my whole life I uploaded maybe 2-3 photos with which I did nothing more but to make a profile correction (RAW) and nothing else. The problem is that I cannot really tell what I do with my photos - I just "play" with them. But I know for sure, as mentioned before, that I used a gradient with some sepia tones, I think. I am sure I sharpened the pic a bit and cropped it. The rest is just try and error - playing with the material. In my camera bag
NowI use my Canon EOS 70D (just bought it) together with my GorillaPod, Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II, Canon EF 100mm 2,8 L IS USM Macro and some zoom lense like Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II or Canon EF-S 10-22mm 1:3,5-4,5 USM. That's it normally.Feedback
Hmm... I am not a pro. So I just can tell you what I do. I see something, try to get a good shot of it and to be honest... I just follow the way with heart, which means I do what I want as long as it feels right. :)
