Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the Great Smoky Mountains in a magical place called "Cades Cove" a unique scenic 11 mile winding loop.

Time

Taken early morning just after the rising sun. Taking a break and stretching the legs this image appeared out of the corner of my eye and thought "how magical".

Lighting

The beautiful light came from that early morning natural light.

Equipment

This shot was taken with the Canon T3 and the 18-55 lens with the Tiffen polarizer filter.

Inspiration

The magical natural light and fog that soaked those rolling greens and winding roads.

Editing

Simple editing minor touch up to the contrast and sharpness. The in camera image really spoke for itself..so only minor adjustments needed.

In my camera bag

Being a beginner my equipment is not major basic 18-55, 70-300 kit lenses and my favorite prime the nifty 50 1.4.

Feedback

Light is key and the more natural the better. Use your prime times early morning and early evening and expect the unexpected be prepared for any condition nature may throw your way. Look for color and those magical moments rely on your "eye" image of the scene your wanting to create. Take your time and plan ahead are common to most photographers but have found sometimes its those "quick shots" that may be your best image. Most of all, have fun and enjoy yourself.
