I've taken this photo in Brittany, France, at a place called "Le Petit Minou", which certainly one of the most known spot in this area.Time
This photo has been taken around 7.00 pm. It was a sunny day, with clouds and a lot of wind. At this hour, the sun was low on the ocean.Lighting
This is of course full natural light. The sun create a warm light on the lighthouse and on the rocks, in opposite with the relative cold colour of the ocean and of a part of the sky.Equipment
I use a Nikon D700, a 24-120mm F/4 and a ND1000 filter on a tripod.Inspiration
My wife and I just love sea and lighthouse. So we cannot resist to taken several pictures of this spot.Editing
The most of the work has been done in Lightroom, just to make the colours and the lighthouse pops a little more. In Photoshop, I just did some cleaning and vignetting. In my camera bag
As we were on holidays when I take this picture, in my bag I had my camera body, a 24-120 f/4, a 70-200mm f/2.8, a speedlight, some filters (ND400-1000-polarizing) and my tripod.Feedback
For this kind of shoot, you have to be at the right place at the right time. That means know where the sun will be, your framing, the kind of picture you want to take (long exposure, panorama, details) because the sunset won't last for hours (in fact it's always too short!). And of course be a little bit lucky that all weather conditions are really good when you are ready to shoot!
