Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken near Glenelg Beach, Adelaide, South Australia.

Time

I was visiting my parents and went for a walk along the streets towards the beach...I could see the sun setting ahead of me, the colours were magical and I ran to capture the moments as I love sunsets. It was around 7pm early October 2014

Lighting

This particular shot the intensity of the colours were fading into the beautiful soft pinks seen in the clouds and water.….I look for the light, angle and subject magically coming together.

Equipment

This shot was taken on a hand held Panasonic DMC-GX7 compact camera on a standard lens

Inspiration

I am a self taught amateur photographer that has a passion for capturing moments, especially the beauty of landscapes, seascapes, sunsets and sunrises. I really liked the warmth of the pink colours from the sun reflected in the clouds, on the water, on the fence line, the rocks and loved the reeds in the foreground as a feature, allowing the water and clouds to fade in the background...it was just all there in the moment.

Editing

I generally use Corel Paintshop Pro X7 for clarity, extra vibrancy of colour etc

In my camera bag

I only have 2 cameras, my iPhone 6 camera which is always with me and can take quite good shots or the other is my compact hand held Panasonic DMC-GX7 Camera with 3 interchangeable lenses.

Feedback

I just look to capture moments of colour, light, interesting lines, compositions and features (like reeds, plants, trees, water, buildings) the way the sun reflects and hope for the best!
