Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at Disney Sea in Japan. It was my first attempt at taking a picture of a moving object with my new camera (first ever dslr), so I was very pleased with the result.Time
It was just getting dark and the lights were beginning to come on, which gave the whole place a beautiful glow. I remember it vividly because it was the first time I realised the value of low, evening light for photography. This is now my favourite time of day to photograph.Lighting
The lights on the moving ride created this blur of colour which I love, while still being very distinct in other areas. I think it makes it look quite surreal.Equipment
This was shot using a Nikon D3200 as I was still learning to operate it. It was taken without a tripod or flash.Inspiration
The entire place looked beautiful. I had seen the ride in the day and it did not interest me, however it when the sun set and the lights came on, it had this amazing glow to it. I love these colours, especially when combined. It also holds sentimental value as I have strong, happy memories of this place.Editing
I did not perform any post-processing on this image. In my camera bag
Most of the time I just carry my Nikon D3200 fitted with a 18-55mm lens. I like to take my camera everywhere and am a very active person, so not having to lug multiple lenses has serious advantages. If I'm going somewhere to shoot something specific I'll pack with more consideration.Feedback
This is one instance where it would have been beneficial to have a tripod handy. The key to this shot is lighting. It's just dark enough to allow a long exposure, but not too dark so as to impact on the quality.
