Spirit, a rescue eagle

Spirit, a rescue eagle was saved by a woman who found him almost dead after having a couple of bullets pumped into him, one in particular that got lodged at the back of his head made him permanently blind. Though he can no longer use his wings to fly, his courageous spirit lives on. He lives at the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre where he is taken care of on a daily basis. He brings such joy to people who meet him and he has learned to trust again. Read about his story on the Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation website. School children aptly named him Spirit for what he had to endure. I honor his brave spirit with this photograph even though he can no longer use his wings to fly.
