My husband and I were on a week long motorcycle tour of Arizona when I took this. We were leaving Phoenix, heading to Flagstaff to see the Grand Canyon.Time
I took this in the early morning hours, probably between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. We were starting our trip early, hoping to get outside of Phoenix before we encountered the morning rush hour.Lighting
It was still pretty dark outside when I took this. I knew that the flash was going to go off, but somehow, that did not deter my surprised expression!Equipment
I actually took this with my daughter's Kodak EasyShare C813 point and shoot, because it was the only camera I had with me on this trip.Inspiration
This was my first real motorcycle tour, and I wanted to capture the excitement of the moment at the beginning of the trip! It was also my first time in Arizona, and I was very excited to be touring all of the fantastic scenery there. It was just me and my husband, and he is not into photography, so I decided to take the photo myself.Editing

I recently purchased a Nikon D3200. When I am going somewhere I know I will want to photograph, that is what is usually with me, along with the 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. I take a lot of my photos from the back of a motorcycle though, and those are usually taken with my Sony Cyber-shot, simply becuase I can wear it around my neck on a lanyard without being too worried about losing anything or dropping it. If all else fails, the camera on my iphone 5S isn't too bad with some additional apps, and I am never without that!Feedback
Don't ever be afraid to try to take the shot, just because you don't have your "real" camera and gear with you. For me, photographs are about capturing memories, and that can sometimes be done with even the simplest of cameras.
