I've known Perry for 16 years. Perry came to Project Hope the second Sunday that Project Hope was around. That was 20 years ago. Perry is many things. He's a warrior with 5 tours in Vietnam as an Army Ranger. He's a scholar with a Masters degree in History from Berlin University. He was in West Berlin when the Berlin Wall was built. He's been a long haul truck driver and a carpenter. He's layed more carpet than I can imagine. He does great wood floors. At 72 years old he's been a functional alcoholic for longer than he wants to remember and in the last 6 months he quit smoking after 65 years - cold turkey! He's faced cancer and is cancer free. He's been married three times and has had to bury his own child. He is one of the precious souls that God has brought to Project Hope to be ministered to and to be touched as only God can touch him.
