Behind The Lens

Location

Believe it or not this photography was taken in Florida as we were strolling a street and it happened to be sitting in a alley way. I am a mother or two beautiful girls who have blessed me with 6 grandchildren. Photography has been a passion for a long time.

Time

It was in the afternoon while site seeing along the beach area of Florida. Just happened to stumble on this item in the alley. It's funny how if you love photography you seem to look for things to capture.

Lighting

The statue that was just sitting in the alley looked so lost and unique. The lighting was so different because it was tucked away. No sunshine was shining on the statue - but had it been in the open it would have more direct sunlight.

Equipment

When this was taken I was using a Rebel camera from Canon. I since then have upgraded several time to allow for more options and more details in my work. No tri-pod was used as we were just walking around and happened to spot this lonely statue.

Inspiration

It was funny because it was not near the actual event of Halloween, and perhaps that is why it struck me so weird. I had to take this photo - it just did not suit the environment we were in nor the season. It looked totally lost and out of place.

Editing

No, I did not even know how to change a photo when this was taken.

In my camera bag

Now I travel with a Canon Mark 5, and with several lens. Depending where we are I will bring the tri-pod with me or my little gorilla. It truly depends on what and where we are going.

Feedback

The only advice I have for someone like me who is totally doing photography as a sport and for the love of it, is to have fun in capturing and sharing your pics with people. It creates conversation and makes you proud that you were able to catch something - that creates creativity.
