I recently discovered 2 mallard ducks (1 female 1 male) chilling in my backyard pond. They tend to come and go so often but I found this to be hilarious. Although some mallard ducks do go after fish, our pond doesn't have any fish this spring because a blue heron came and ate them all before winter. I guess the ducks came too late but he's determined to keep looking around underwater haha. What an entertaining story! I'm glad you included it. We had some mallards land in our backyard a couple years ago, and then they waddled (while quacking) out to the street and down the block. It was indeed funny, but not as unusual as your story. And we've NEVER had a blue heron in our backyard... haha I just told my husband that we should consider putting a small pond in our backyard... :-)
