This was taken on my first international solo adventure! In the amazing Canadian Rockies! This beauty is Lake Louise, in Alberta.Time
I wasn't really keeping track of time while I was there, but I think it was late morning.Lighting
Honestly, I didn't really take the lighting in to consideration, at this point I was just 'happy snapping' in my artistic ways.Equipment
I used a Canon 550D, my first and only DSLR, and the Canon 18-55mm lens. Pretty much my standard.Inspiration
My inspiration was mostly just to show the family and friends back home some of the beautiful places I went. But I loved the rocks in the foreground and the lines between the mountains. Its just so perfectly beautiful, you can not take a bad photograph of Canada!Editing
When I edited this photo, I didn't really know to much about post-processing, so I mainly just tweaked the contrast, brightness, all the basics really. This is also a JPEG file so I didn't have a lot of room to move, but I'm still happy with the outcome, and apparently others are too!In my camera bag
I always have my 18-55mm with me and depending on where/what I'm shooting I take the 55-200mm, just for that extra reach. Only thing I make sure I always have would be extra SD cards. Because, I'm a bit trigger happy at times and constantly using them up! I also have a circular polarizing filter for the added contrast, or to be able to decrease lighting. And of course, last but not least a tripod! Those things are so handy and I use mine most of the time.Feedback
In this situation, I couldn't control any of the variables. I was there for about an hour with the tour group, and so I just got what I could, which makes it difficult to get super amazing shots, but of course not impossible. The best advice in this case I'd say would be to keep the image straight, I'm for ever cropping and straightening in post-processing because that's one of my worst habits. And just attention to details. As its a very big tourist attraction, you never know when a head will pop into frame.
