Location
I took this photo at the Sicangu Wicoti Iyuksa (Rosebud Spirit Camp) on 10th night it was established. Along the Northern border of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.Time
It was our first night there, and we were welcomed with such comrodery, and great conversations about their cause. Singing, storytelling, and jokes filled the evening. This Tipi they let us stay in for the night. In the early morning hours, I set up my tripod and took this photo.Lighting
All natural lights, nothing fancy just my camera & me.Equipment
I shot this with a Cannon Rebel T3i and tripod.Inspiration
The Sicangu Wicoti Iyuksa- (Rosebud Spirit Camp) was a truly inspiring moment in time, that I believe started a movement in The hearts and minds of Native Nations. Nations that have been so greatly ignored by the U.S government that they suffer corporate consequences first, and hardest due to the fact that unwanted pipelines were destroying sacred sites, and endangering the Oglala Aquifer. They started this Spirital Camp along with legal legislation, and other forms of communications to oppose the KXL Pipeline. In 2014 President Obama vetoed the pipeline.Editing
