I took this shot at a beach on the Illawarra coast, south of Sydney.

I'd been on the rocks shooting away at the sunrise for most of the morning until I decided to finish up and head back to the car.

The sun was already quite high, behind the clouds and I thought that the best light had passed. I was wrong!

As I walked back down the beach I just happened to glance behind me just as these awesome sun rays started to peek through a gap in the clouds, so I set my camera back up and composed this shot.

This one huge wave crashed against the rocks and exploded upwards and I was thankful for choosing a fast shutter speed to capture the action rather than my usual long exposure to smooth everything out.

To this day it's probably my only fast shutter speed seascape that I've been happy with :)
