Behind The Lens

Location

Taken on my back porch. I was mowing my yard and almost mowed over this little guy. I picked him up and put him on my porch banister as I didn't want him to jump in front of the mower my next trip around the yard. I grabbed my camera and took this photo and a couple of others. He stayed on the porch as I mowed. After I finished, I went in the house and he eventually left.

Time

It was probably in the afternoon, early evening I would guess.

Lighting

Natural sun light at that time of day.

Equipment

Canon Rebel with a 70-300 lens. Macro was 1.5/4.9 ft. Taken as close as I could get to get a clear shot.

Inspiration

Nothing other than I thought this little guy would make a great photo.

Editing

I used the editing program that came with the camera. A simple feature where I could adjust basic features like contrast, dark and light etc. Nothing fancy.

In my camera bag

The one camera and the lens that came with it and the 70-300 lens that I bought separately.

Feedback

Being an amateur (little to no experience in the field), I can only say that when you find something you like, grab your camera and just start taking photos (carry it with you every chance you get for that matter). Take a lot of photos because the more you take, the better your opportunity to get the one you have been looking for.
