I took this photo during a very early hour of the day, at Lake Tsomgo, which lies somewhere east of Sikkim.Time
This is probably one of my favourite images, the kind that don't need any sort of retouching. It screams perfection, as it is. I took this early morning, around 7, on a walk to watch this majestic lake, Tsamgo, situated in East Sikkim. It was freezing cold and we were shivering from head to toe but I somehow, almost miraculously, managed to capture the flawlessness of this place.Lighting
I wanted this image to take a viewer down a string of thoughts. When you first come across this place, you may find this natural untouched piece of land calming, but it's mysteriousness is enough to draw you in and then immerse you in its perfection almost instantly. It was early morning so the lighting was just right, and since this picture is not touched or altered in any way, the only lighting that did wonders was the sun rays dancing on the water.Equipment
This was shot with a Nokia Lumia 610, aperture f/2.4 and shutter speed 1/490. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Just the sheer beauty of it and then the realisation that not everyone gets to see what I'm seeing right now.Editing
No! This is a completely untouched image with no alteration of any kind.In my camera bag
I used to carry my Nokia Lumia 610, as it captures quite great images. I also use my Nexus 5 and my Sony DSC W520 for the purpose of photography.Feedback
Sikkim has a lot of unique characteristics. It is also a place worthy of every photographer's love. There are a couple of places you could love to click such as the Tsamgo lake, Rumtek Monastery, the Nathu La pass, Ban Jhakri waterfall and the hot springs. Photography in some monasteries could be prohibited, owing to the sacredness of the place, but the people are kind enough to cooperate, if you ask nicely. Some places are beautiful when left untouched, and so are some photographs. And Sikkim is a place which needs no Photoshop. It is willing to show you it's beautiful, most pristine self with every photograph you take, that too quite effortlessly.
