Location
I was taking a photography class for beginners and part of our first assignment was to just take inspirational photos. It was kind of random as my husband and I were walking home I decided to take this photo of the setting sun behind the tourists enjoying the view by the fountain in the entrance to Larcomar in Miraflores, Lima-Peru. This area sits on top of a cliff that overlooks the ocean.Time
The sun sets relatively early in Lima and I took it on January of 2013 around 5:30PM just as it was about 20 degrees above the horizon. This time of the evening with the goldsLighting
The sun is almost below the horizon casting wonderful reflections in the small fountain.Equipment
I used a Sony DSC-W330 that I always carry in my purse and in this case I didn't use a flash nor a tripod.Inspiration
We routinely walk by this area and this time of day the sun setting into the ocean is a spectacular view. This is one of my favorite photos.Editing
The only post-processing done on the photo was the addition of a copyright. In my camera bag
My camera bag contains a Canon EOS Digital Rebel with the stock 18-55m lens and a larger 75-300mm lens, a couple batteries and a few old school compact flash cards.Feedback
Make sure and always carry a camera with you even if it is a small compact one. Sometimes the best photos are those random shots like this one that you encounter as you are strolling through life.
