I took this photo at Wave Hill in the Bronx.Time
This photo was taken on an April day in the early evening.Lighting
It had been a sunny day. The sun was close to setting at the time this photo was taken.Equipment
I took this photo with a Canon PowerShot 80.Inspiration
I'm a water lover. I enjoy taking photos of objects on water. I also enjoy taking photos of flowers. Therefore, lilypads are the perfect combination of those things. They allow you to get close to the water and capture images at many different angles.Editing
I didn't do any post-processing.In my camera bag
My PowerShot 80 recently broke. I bought my first SLR - a Canon Rebel t3i. I realized it's not the most practical to carry around on outdoor adventures like biking or hiking. As a result, I bought a PowerShot 100. I only carry whichever camera I'm using that day. If I'm going to be away from home for a few days, I pack my battery charger and USB cable.Feedback
I took this photo using the program exposure setting on the camera. That's what I attribute the aqua color of the water to, as it didn't look that color to the natural eye. The program exposure setting allows the novice photographer to easily change lighting without getting overwhelmed by more complicated settings.
