This photo was taken on one of my first sessions. Back then I was an amateur in the world of photography. Most of my photos then were fine-art, nowadays I am more into documentary and wedding photography, it is like real and raw vs. conceptual and set up stories, I've changed and my style also. The photo was taken with my first DSLR camera, Canon 450d/ Rebel XSi, and Canon 50mm, f1.8 lens. I think the most important tool you have is your idea, creativity, and YOU, not the equipment you use. When you have limited resources you think out of the box.Time
My favorite time of the day is a golden hour. I am in love with warm tone on photos. Golden hour is short and you have to act very quickly, you have half an hour of quality time and good light to take photos but when you do, it's perfect. This photo was taken back in autumn 2012.Lighting
Good light is everything! Everything about photography is about painting with light.Equipment
Here I used my very first DSLR camera I bought with my own budget in a high school, as I mentioned before, Canon 450D, now I gave it to my 6-years old son to take photos, he is into photography as his mother is :). There is no flash or any kind of studio light, just daylight, actually golden hour.Inspiration
I was inspired by fairy tales, I like to dream about things that are not realistic, it is like an escape. Then and now, I am still inspired by movies and stories, but have to say that now I am a big fan of real emotions, real stories, and people, like a hunter of real moments inside of society and culture. I think the main reason I changed my style and views it's because of the wedding photography. A few years ago I started doing wedding photography because of financial reasons, it was the easiest way to earn money as a photographer. I was so frustrated because I didn't have time to set up everything I wanted to, I didn't have perfect conditions, light or weather to take photos on the way I wanted to because every wedding is different than other, then I ”go with the flow” and changed my mindset, raw feelings and moments are everything to me now.Editing
The photo was post-processed in Photoshop, I played just with colors, contrast, and tones, nowadays I use most of the time Adobe Lightroom because I do wedding photography, it is easier and quicker when you have to edit more hundred photos. I am a big believer when you photographing, you should set up everything to be perfect as it is, then in post-production do minor color corrections. Back then I used to say ”ahhh I will fix it in Photoshop”, now I against that. :DIn my camera bag
I use Canon 6D and 95% of the time Sigma Art 35mm f1.4 lens, sometimes I switch to Canon 50mm, f1.4Feedback
To have a very good photo, you should be focusing 30% on finding a very good location for the session, other 30% on finding a beautiful model, last 30% is about good light. Before everything, you should have THE idea, this is your prime tool as a photographer.
