This is one of two fawns seen together when this photo was taken by me. As I moved in closer to the other fawn, this one started walking towards me as if it were going to charge me. It appeared to be protecting the other fawn.

I've seen a lot of pictures of deer, but this is my very favorite!! It's beautiful!! I love the way it's front leg is up, and the way it's looking at you and alert! And the DOF is wonderful too!!

Thank you so much! I have taken several pictures of deer, but this image is my favorite too! There were actually two fawns that day. As I moved in closer to the other deer, this one would start walking towards me. When I stopped it kept raising its leg up and down like it was going to charge me. Every time I walk a little closer to the other one, this one took more steps toward me. It was like it was protecting the other one. What makes this so special to me is the interaction between the deer and myself, and where it was taken. My brother was killed in 2010. This was in the cemetery were he is at. He has always been my protector too. It reminded of him. It will always have a very special memory for me. Sorry for the long response. :-)
