Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the James and Fredda Otis Memorial Grove Trailhead, just north of San Francisco, CA in the heart of the Redwood National Forest

Time

It must have been years ago, but I went to the Pacific Northwest in 2014, and to the best of my memory, this was right around mid-day

Lighting

Quite simply, even so much as a change of perspective by kneeling opens up a whole new world of photographic opportunity

Equipment

At the time, I owned a Nikon D3300, and used my basic kit lens because I have forgotten to grab my gear bag on the impromptu hike

Inspiration

This bridge appeared like magic when I hiked up a rocky embankment and crested the root ridden trail, and it just caught my eye as being beautifully simple yet undisturbed.

Editing

No post processing! It really is naturally beautiful

In my camera bag

My Nikon D3300 body, both kit lenses, and a wide angle or telephoto zoom for wildlife!

Feedback

Just have your camera ready for anything, and some of the best photos happen in the most spontaneous fashion!
