Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken one day while I was working in Orillia, Ontario, Canada. These spiders hang out around the docks around our lake.

Time

I snapped this right on my lunch break as I was tossing out some garbage, I noticed her on the side of the metal garbage can.

Lighting

She was hidden in the shade, so I had to slow down my shutter speed. Luckily I managed to hold the camera still enough to get the shot.

Equipment

Just my Nikon d3100, no tripod or anything fancy.

Inspiration

It was purely luck that I saw this spider. But as soon as I did see her, I knew she would make for a really cool model.

Editing

I definitely did some post processing in lightroom. I cranked up the clarity and the contrast, and turned down the highlights and blacks. I also messed around with the colours of the photo to give it that erie feeling.

In my camera bag

That day I just happened to bring my nikon d3100 to work with a stock lens, this picture was taken a few years ago, just as I was first getting into photography.

Feedback

Keep your eyes out and my imagination open. As soon as i saw this spider, I knew I wanted to get some scary/evil picture.
