At first I thought this might be a Goshawk, but then she called to mama and they chatted back and forth which helped me identify her(him?). She also had a sibling on a nearby haybail, so the parents who I have been visiting all summer have successfully fledged 2 new ones, I hope they make the long migration! Swainson's hawks have been known to winter all the way down in Argentina, that is a long round trip from Canada!
