Behind The Lens

Location

Ovalekarwadi a butterfly park near Mumbai . (India)

Time

around 11AM.

Lighting

The light was a bit harsh and i had to use -2 stop compensation.

Equipment

This pic was shot with a Nikon D800E Camera with a 60mm nikkor prime lens hand held. EXIF:f/10,1/50 shutter speed, without flash,ISO 100.

Inspiration

This Tawny coster butterfly was resting beautifully on a branch and the light was falling nicely on its wing (although a bit harsh) and this inspired me to take this pic.

Editing

Did a bit of cropping and nothing else was required.

In my camera bag

My kit depends on what i shoot, and the equipment i have is as follows.. NIKKON D800E Camera, nikkor 60mm prime lens,a nikkor f/2 200mm prime lens.a 16-35 nikor lens(wide angle),a 70-400 nikkor lens and a 800mm sigma prime lens for birding. i also carry filters and a manfrotto tripod with Gimbal head.

Feedback

Butterflies are always a fascinating subject to shoot and you will always be amazed by the variety and the beauty of nature in them.however, they are pretty sensitive, one has to be very gentle in movement when you want to get closer to them and a lot of patience is required.
