I don,t drive and have to rely on friends, for trips out. so it wonderful to get chance to go to the farne island for this image.Time
the image was taken midday in month of june, which is about the best time of yearLighting
check the weather for good lighting calm windsEquipment
I used a nikon D300s, lens nikon 18-200mm crop factor 27-300mmmInspiration
It was the first time I was able to get closeup to puffins and other sea birdsEditing
not really just watch your highlights on bright sunny days, I normally use compensation on camera about minus 0.7In my camera bag
I carry two full frame cameras one with lens 28-200mm and one with tamron 150-600mm it helps to keep my senser cleanFeedback
If its your first time like my friend, who had problems focusing flying birds. the secret is to pick a puffin flying back from the sea and stay focus all the way back to her nesting hole, good luck
