Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at my brother property. It is one of my first close up pictures. I am learning as i go, to take great nature shots and close ups. I love Photography, its one of my passions in life.Time
I took the photo in the summer, about mid day.Lighting
Taking the shot about mid day, was the perfect time. I provided full sunlight on the shot. I have found direct sunlight on the subject being photographed provides a good shine and vibrant colors in a lot of my photo's.Equipment
I shot the photo with my Cannon Digital Rebel XT. Cant remember the lense i used. I didn't use a tripod or a flash. Just sunlight to make it pop and shine.Inspiration
I wanted to challenge myself by taking up close photo's and i thought the flower and sunlight provided a good opportunity to test my skills.Editing
I don't remember using any post processing for this photo. However i took the pic. a few years ago.In my camera bag
I always carry extra batteries and multiple lenses. Different types and sizes of tripods, and of course the both of my cameras. I sometimes also bring a snack if im gonna be out shooting for the day. Hey, i get hungry!Feedback
Take the time to set up the shot, try to use natural light rather than a flash. Take several shots of the same subject so as to be able to get the best shot possible. Dont always rely on a tripod, I find it easier not to use one when trying to get that perfect angle. Also never miss and opportunity to get a good shot, even if you dont think you can get one at any given time or place. Experimenting for me is one the most enjoyable part of photography! Just have fun with it!
