My cousin, Aven, was born on March 18, 2013. I took this photo when I met her for the first time. The nurse held her head and Aven grasped the RN's hair between her tiny fingers. To me, this picture says more than 1,000 words. The light shined on Aven's face to create beautiful contrast. More importantly- a photo was taken that will always remind me of life's greatest gift. A newborn child is quite a remarkable event and I have Aven's parents, Eric and Heather, to thank for this beautiful memory. This photo, to me, is best summarized by the word 'hope'. I am hopeful that my new little relative will have all she ever hopes for. The nurse is hopeful that her care will secure the child's comfort. The child hopes to have love, security, food, shelter, and the love of her family.
