Location
This photo was taken at my son's farm in Henry IllinoisTime
It was the late afternoonLighting
I remember it was a bright sunny fall day.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 7D, Sunpak Flash3000, Canon 18-55mm lens. The camera was not mine, but a very good friends. He let me play around with it and this is what I got!Inspiration
I kept watching this guy and he was just fluttering all around, he was so pretty. I did not think he was ever going to land, and when he did, he just sat there like, ok here I am.Editing
Yes I did, in full color this guy is just beautiful! But I wanted something a little different, so I made the photo black and white, with just a splash of color. I am really happy with the way it turned out, I like the way his wings are just about transparent! In my camera bag
Canon T3i, Canon T3, Canon 18-55mm lens, Canon 70-300 lens, Tameron 10-24mm lens, flash, SD cards, extra batteries, filters and I always have my tri-pod with me!Feedback
Patience!!!!! Do not be in a hurry, I had an amazing photographer here on Viewbug tell me "I keep my camera with me at all times, even when I have no need to have it. It's a common practice and when it pay's off, it's kinda like getting Christmas present's when you think you'll never get excited about it again. :) Some of our best shots happen on purpose, for a reason, because we are not lucky; but because we're prepared." Thank you Dan Kinghorn for that advise! I always take my camera wherever I go now and I have gotten some amazing chances at wonderful photos.
