Behind The Lens

Location

Rockaway Beach, Queens NY

Time

Thanks to the invention of metadata I can tell you exactly what time of day! "Four People On The Beach" was taken on June 25, 2007 at 11:07 am

Lighting

Natural light is my favorite and it worked perfectly here. I was very far away on a terrace in an apartment building and take this with a long lens.

Equipment

Olympus E-500 Zoom lens shot @ 150 mm 1/160 sec. F4.5 ISO 160

Inspiration

This is one of my favorite point of view (POV), high up looking down. The subject was interesting and everything about this said "press the shutter"!

Editing

Yes, I saturated the water so it looks like this beach was on a tropical island!

In my camera bag

Now, I shot with a mirrorless camera and a zoom lens. Sometimes I'll have my macro lens in my bag, polarizing filter, extra batteries & memory cards of course. If I'm shooting a wedding I have 2 of everything including 2 flashes. I am also an iPhoneographer and teach classes in iPhoneography in my studio in Avon, CT.

Feedback

Being at the right place, at the right time is everything!....and a little luck too!
