Location
I took this photo on a back country road outside of a small town in Texas. I was looking for a spot with no man made light to get the full effect of the eclipse.Time
I took this at sunset. I was in the perfect part of the U. S. for this annular eclipse. The eclipse was happening right at sunset, so I set up about an hour before to wait for the moon to begin it's pathway across the sun.Lighting
Because the eclipse was happening at sunset, I was able to capture the beautiful colors of the Texas sunset as well as the magnificence of the eclipse.Equipment
This was taken the EOS Rebel 2ti on a tripod. Settings were f7.1, ISO 400, and exposure of 1/500. I used my Canon EFS 55-250.Inspiration
I was excited about being in the perfect spot to witness an annular eclipse and wanted to be able to document such a rare and beautiful event.Editing
I cropped this in Lightroom, but no other post processing was necessary. In my camera bag
Along with my Canon Rebel I carry my 75 - 300, my 18 - 55, and a 50 mm 1:18.Feedback
This was such a rare event that I began planning as soon as I realized I was in such a great spot to capture it. Planning and patience really were key. Finding that perfect spot ahead of time the being there to wait for just the right moment.
