Behind The Lens
Location
Not sure exactly where I took this photo but most of my moon photos are taken over Lake Ray Hubbard in Garland, TX.Time
This was just after the moon came up. I like to capture the moon when it is red, orange, yellow, then eventually, white.Lighting
No lighting was used.Equipment
I have a Nikon D7100 and although I can take a photo like this without a tripod, I normally use one. I also use a Sigma 500mm lens. It's nicknamed the Bigma.Inspiration
I love all of God's creation and the moon is certainly one of them. I actually prefer a half moon so that the craters can easily be seen. I do try to capture all of the Blood Moons, Honey Moons, Eclipses, Harvest Moons, etc.Editing
I don't really do much processing. In my camera bag
I have numerous lenses but only need my 500mm when taking photos of the moon.Feedback
It helps to be still. If you can't, you a tripod. I set my camera on the lowest F-Stop and speed at 64000.
