Behind The Lens

Location

My Children and I went on a small weekend Vacation to Bannf, AB. We decided to Venture out and view the Johnston falls while they were still frozen

Time

It was our last day on our vacation when my kids and I decided to head out to the falls. It was a very nice warm sunny day in March. This photo was taken by hand at the end of the lower falls around 11am

Lighting

I tried to get as high as I could in the araa of where the falls met the Canyon, to get the best reflection and lighting on the falls

Equipment

This Photo was taken with A Nikon D5100, with a nikkor lens of 55-200. No other equipment used

Inspiration

I am in awe of the beauty nature has for us! I have always wanted to visit these falls in Banff, AB and Inthiught the best way to show its Beauty was with the falls still somewhat frozen

Editing

For Post processing I added some enhancement on the colour to brighten it up As well as a little contrast tweaking

In my camera bag

I usually carry my two fav lenses nikkor 18-55 and the 55-200 as well as my TRI pod attached to the underneath. I also carry my light in case there is extra light need to properly capture the scene

Feedback

The falls in Banff, the weather is always changing, snow in on spot colder in another, warm and sunny in another. Patience, is key to capturing the right moment photo at the lower falls.
