Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken as part of a weekend studio day shoot being held at a local studio in Horwich, Bolton, England.

Time

The shot was taken on 27th July 2014 and was one of the last shots set up for the day around 4:30pm

Lighting

The model was lit from directly above her position using a 400w Studio Flash located in a Strip Softbox whilst she sat on the block of wood

Equipment

Canon 5D MKIII Body with the Canon EF 24-105 F/4 L IS USM Lens

Inspiration

The photo was just a progression of some other shots to do with Art-Nude photography

Editing

Converted the photo from Colour to B&W Adjustments to Contrast, Highlights and Blacks was done within Lightroom

In my camera bag

The body is always a Canon 5D MKIII. Depending upon the situation and type of shots required I have a few lenses or flash that I can utilise. Canon EF-85mm F/1.8 - the shots from this cheaper lens astounds me to this date compared to shots I have seen from the more expensive model. Canon EF-70-200mm F2.8l IS II USM -Obviously one of Canon's go-to lenses, but considerations have to be made when lugging this beast around Sigma 150-500mm F5/F6.3 APO DG OS HSM - A nice lens when I'm sat at the other end of a sports field but has tendency to be "soft" at the long end

Feedback

Just practice, set up some shots and see how you like them...Move the lights and don't be afraid to keep trying
