Behind The Lens

Location

I class myself as an "amateur photographer" in that it is not my full time profession. I had flown over to Latvia with a photographer friend for the last week in June 2017 to do a studio shoot on the Sunday in Riga but mainly to attend AmberBreeze at other places around Latvia. Renate was one of the models assigned to our group on the day at the place we had moved to around the coast at Bernati. The days were long but enjoyable

Time

very close to mid-day

Lighting

This was all natural light, with the sun nearly full overhead

Equipment

Hand held - Canon 5DMKIII+EF70-200mm F/2.8 II IS

Inspiration

It was the light and shadows falling over Renate that drew my attention to take the shot

Editing

Just used Lightroom 6 to adjust highlights, shadows and contrast

In my camera bag

Canon 5DMKIII, EF24-105 F/4 USM or EF70-200 F/2.8 II IS

Feedback

Just ensure the model is protected from the days sun and is situated where they are comfortable. If the model is not comfortable then you're not going to achieve a relaxed shot
