Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken on the Isle of Anglesey, i initially went to take some shots of Penmon lighthouse, but the weather turned, so i was looking for something to work withthe weather and i spotted the lighthouse keepers house, with the stormy mountains in the background, i lay on the ground and shot along the road, i was trying to capture the bleakness,

Time

This photo as far as i can remember was taken about 6.30 on a Autumn evening,

Lighting

This was shot just using the natural light of the day

Equipment

I used a Canon 300d - Lens 18.0-55.0 mm - Shutter Speed 1/320s - Aperture f/7.1 - ISO 200 - Focal Length

Inspiration

i wanted to show the bleakness of what it would be like to be the lighthouse keeper living in that house

Editing

I shot in Raw and then did a split tone conversion

In my camera bag

Canon 5D, 16-35mm lens, 70-200mm lens, 24-70 lens, 50mm prime lens alta pro tripod, various neutral density filters including a 10 stop, camera cleaning and lens cleaning equipment, a torch, a compass, spare battery, memory cards, remote trigger, spare strap,

Feedback

Landscape photography is tricky, you need to research sunset or sunrise times, check the weather reports and be prepared to adapt to the conditions when you get there
